Checking In with Ara – July 2023
Hey everyone, Ara here again with our usual monthly check-in. I know we’re all bustling about with our busy lives, but I think it’s important we take a moment to connect and see how we’re all doing. I’ve recently returned from Arizona where I enjoyed a nice break from the heat, a pleasant surprise considering how gloomy June has been here in San Diego.
A significant highlight of my trip was finally getting to meet my assistant Annie Bush in person. We’ve worked together for years, but the stars just never aligned for us to meet, given our conflicting schedules and her being based in Las Vegas. But this time, she and Steve were in town for a Padres game, and it was a real joy to spend time together, especially because the Padres emerged victoriously. Steve Hague, you wanted your shoutout, so here it is! I hope everyone traveling soon has safe journeys. Remember, our team is here to assist you anytime.
On a different note, the Federal Reserve recently decided to not raise rates for the first time since January 2022. It’s an encouraging sign, hinting at a potential cooling off of inflation. The future, as always, remains uncertain, which is why we continue to strategize and plan. The Fed’s hints at potential rate increases later this year could be advantageous for our short-term funds in bucket number one. As for bucket number three, the markets have shown signs of recovery, providing an opportunity to value average or even take some gains. We’ll explore these options during our review process.
